about the consultant

I was born to parents who love the outdoors. Growing up on the Fletcher Floodwaters, we spent a great deal of time hunting and fishing. I worked my way to an associate's degree by running a chainsaw on a logging crew. Now with 36 years of experience in the field, I am a traditional conservationist, in the style of Theodore Roosevelt and Aldo Leupold. I believe management decisions should be based on science and common sense. My motto is: Sustainable resources through ethical stewardship.

I have many satisfied customers. I may have worked for someone you know!

importance of QDMA

With the discovery of tuberculosis in the wild whitetail deer herd of northeast lower Michigan, sound forestry practices as a wildlife habitat improvement tool has become extremely important. I quickly became a supporter and member of the Quality Deer Management Association and apply the results of its research to my own practices. Dr. Grand Woods and Ed Spinazzola are a huge inspiration to me and I own autographed copies of their books. I have had the opportunity to speak with Dr. Kroll and observe his work at the Turtle Lake Club.
